Job Duties:

The Virginia Industries for the Blind is an enterprise division within DBVI. VIB is an accredited affiliate of the National Industries for the Blind, and a manufacturer and distributor of products and services provided under the provisions of the Javits-Wagner-O'Day Act and the Ability One Program.

We are seeking a Delivery Driver/Shipper/Receiver.

The purpose of the position:

Provide timely, courteous delivery of goods as needed to customers.Receiving incoming material.Ship customer orders using UPS WorldShip.Other duties may also include forklift operation and material movement, providing customer service, stocking shelves, and other duties in support of the operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience:•Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.•Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including warehousing of product and maintaining inventory records.•Demonstrated problem-solving and excellent customer service skills.•Shipping/receiving/warehousing experience.•Good at multi-tasking with little supervision.

Skills/Abilities:•Professional attitude as this person is the face of the Company in the public sector.•Ability to operate up to a 26ft Box Truck along with Cargo vans.•Ability to learn shipping programs, i.e. UPS World Ship.•Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.•Proficient computer skills, familiarity with internet, Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software.•Basic math and legible handwriting skills.•Ability to learn general knowledge of products sold.•Ability to perform duties independently without direct supervision.•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand up to 7 hours.•Ability to operate a pallet jack/ forklift.
