Sidney, OH
location, you will be a team member on the Oil-Free Centrifugal team. As a Lab Manager on our Oil Free Centrifugal team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting the build processes, test processes, and training lab personnel on a variety of functions. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, process-oriented person.
As a Centrifugal Lab Manager, you will:
Oversight of day-to-day Oil-Free Centrifugal Lab operations, including Air BIR, characterization testing, DART, asset loading and maintenance working with GLS
Provide technical guidance and planning for lab projects and equipment builds
Manage laboratory expense budget and Salary Planning
Manage overall Inventory/Procurement for the program including vendor communication, parts checking, vendor visits and supplier correlation.
Provide overall equipment responsibility for Centrifugal labs, including improvement initiatives, upkeep, calibration, and necessary accreditations
Manage lab parts, tools, and consumables inventory
Coordinate engineering hardware builds and associated logistics
Develop technician team including training, outreach, recruitment, onboarding, and other technician development activities
Lead lab process improvement initiatives and develop operations and testing best practices
Overall management and coordination of daily and long term forecasting plans
Develop and execute capital plans and manage capital budget, including specialized equipment builds and facilities level projects
Drive safety culture for the lab and implement 5S+1
“I Own Safety” leader and facilitator, Process Changes / implementation and participate in
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related manufacturing technical degree or combination of education and experience or relevant experience.
At least (2) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (co-op experience will be considered)
Good interpersonal, project management, presentation, and teamwork skills
Ability to recognize and solve simple and sophisticated problems in assembly, testing and general fixture /tool design
Ability to run multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs
Ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time including some international travel
Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Two to Five (2 to 5) years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience
Experience with lean manufacturing principles
Experience and Proficiency with assembly quality tools and processes in a plus
Experience with equipment and process layouts
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
