Career opportunities identified by Business Area:Simulation/Trainer Design Engineer (Software) : Design and manufacture of high-fidelity simulators and trainers for the most complex fixed wing and rotor wing air vehicles, both manned and unmanned, and ground vehicles.Simulation/System Laboratory Engineer (Software) : Design, development, and sustainment of high fidelity test facilities for complex air vehicle integrated systems.Mission Systems Design Engineer (Software) : Design and fabrication of prototype and low-level production of systems and components.J.F. Taylor, Inc. is seeking software developers/engineers to contribute to all phases of the design cycle including requirements generation, design, coding, troubleshooting/testing, and delivery/installation. Software developers/engineers work in a team setting with Project Managers, Engineers, Software Developers, Testers and Technicians. Tasking will consist of the following:The simulation of real world aircraft systems that range from the simple to the complex.Work with hardware engineers to develop software to stimulate and integrate both commercial and military hardware.Code in Linux and Windows Operating System (OS) environments, using open source libraries.Develop graphical user interfaces (GUI).Understand and apply processes and procedures, perform activities associated with the design, development, test, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software.Work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.Develop software interfaces for various protocols.Develop both manual and automated test code.Position RequirementsDegree: B.S. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field desired.Years of Experience: 0-5 years of experience is preferred, but all will be considered.The candidate must be able to program using C and C++ in both a Windows and/or Linux/Unix environment.The candidate must possess strong independent coding skills and a willingness to communicate and work alongside other software and project team members.It is preferred the candidate has experience with SQL, Qt/QML, python, javascript, XML, a working knowledge of sockets and TCP/IP.Knowledge in the areas of graphical User Interface (GUI) development and networking a plus.About the OrganizationJ.F.
