Industrial Maintenance Manager

Cypress Employment has a client in Mobile in need of an Industrial Maintenance Manager. This is a direct hire position that includes benefits (listed at the bottom).
Responsibilities
:
Follows all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality, and efficient operations.
Develops methods, systems, and procedures for all aspects of the operations, as necessary.
Coordinate work orders to determine work priorities.
Schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
Develops/improves preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering/operations and maintenance staff.
Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and modify maintenance activities.
Ensures that all operating machines and equipment conform to operational standards.
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Requisitions/recommends tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
Directs safety and maintenance training of employees to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
Supports operations and engineering personnel to resolve process issues and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Assist in preparing department budget and capital expenditures.
Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommendation for hire, and the training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate would have an engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or equivalent experience and have at least 5 years experience in either a supervisory or managerial role within the maintenance or engineering field. We will however consider those with 2 to 5 years experience with the right combination of leadership, positive attitude, and supervisory maintenance experience. Plastic extrusion experience is preferred. Must have a good knowledge of computers and most Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Successful candidate must have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. This would include the ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variances, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate well both speaking and listening. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, squat, reach, pull, and climb stairs. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to distinguish colors, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Additionally, our production floor is not climate controlled.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
