Civil Litigation Defense Attorney

A well-established law firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a motivated Civil Litigation Defense Attorney with 2 to 4 years of experience in civil litigation defense. This full-time position involves handling a variety of medical malpractice defense cases and working autonomously with minimal supervision. The firm offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for trial preparation and direct client interaction. The role requires meeting a billable hour requirement of 1,950 hours annually, and the position comes with a competitive benefits package.Duties:Independently manage day-to-day case activities with minimal supervisionTrack and meet critical case deadlines (answer deadlines, discovery deadlines, etc.)Draft legal documents including answers, discovery responses, and productionsOversee the work of nurses, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure proper delegation of tasksAttend depositions and provide detailed reports on findingsCommunicate with expert witnesses and coordinate with legal teams for expert material preparationAnalyze medical records and assist in preparing materials for expert reviewPrepare for trial, including document preparation and organizing evidenceAttend trials and assist in litigation proceedingsRequirements:2 to 4 years of experience in civil litigation defense, preferably with a focus on medical malpractice defenseStrong ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneouslyExperience with legal drafting, discovery, and trial preparationStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEducation:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active member of the Georgia Bar (required)Skills:Proficient in legal research, drafting, and trial preparationAbility to manage deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong leadership skills to oversee paralegal and support staff
