Job Overview:This role seeks an experienced attorney to support a law firm specializing in client representation in eviction cases. The position involves comprehensive management of eviction proceedings, legal research, and courtroom advocacy to ensure clients are well-informed and represented. The attorney will work remotely from Portland, OR, but must be licensed in California. A commitment to professional excellence and client-focused representation is essential for success in this role.Duties:Manage and oversee a caseload of eviction matters for clientsProvide sound legal advice and updates on evolving eviction lawsConduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategyDraft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, oppositions, and discovery materialsRepresent clients in court hearings, handling all litigation aspects related to eviction casesEducate clients on eviction law changes and trends for proactive legal guidanceRequirements:Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law schoolActive membership in the California State Bar, maintaining compliance with licensing and continuing educationMinimum of 1 year of legal experience, with a preference for backgrounds in eviction, foreclosure, or litigationEducation:Bachelor’s DegreeJuris Doctorate from an accredited law schoolCertifications:California State Bar membership (required)Skills:Strong written and verbal communication abilitiesProficiency in legal research and analysisAdvocacy and negotiation capabilitiesExcellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to case timelines and client needsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a remote teamClient relationship management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with case management systemsJob Location:Portland, OR
