Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in Sacramento, CA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in criminal defense, working closely with experienced attorneys and legal assistants. The attorney will manage a caseload, represent clients in court, and collaborate with a dynamic criminal defense team, with plenty of opportunities for growth within the firm.Duties:Provide legal advice to clients on their rights and assist with the preparation of case-related legal documents.Represent clients during pretrial hearings and offer strategic advice after each hearing.Manage court appearances, draft motions, conduct witness interviews, and perform comprehensive legal research.Evaluate potential outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.Handle a caseload of criminal defense matters and ensure timely case progression.Perform legal analysis to identify possible benefits or opportunities for clients.Gather and evaluate additional evidence to support defense strategies or counter the prosecution’s claims.Prepare clients for depositions and develop case strategies, collecting crucial information from witnesses and experts.Requirements:Demonstrated interest in criminal defense law, evidenced by law school clinics, volunteer work, or internship experience.Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active bar admission (consideration given to recent graduates awaiting admission).Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage client relationships.Experience with case management software is preferred.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active bar admission or pending bar admission in California.Skills:Strong research, drafting, and litigation skills.Excellent verbal and written communication.Ability to manage a caseload effectively and move cases forward efficiently.Attention to detail and high-level organizational skills.Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.Job Location:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off.Paid parking.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development within the firm.Company infoBCG Attorney Search1750 Montgomery St Fl 1San FranciscoCaliforniaUnited States 94111Phone :
