Eligibility Technician 2

located in Juneau, Alaska.

What You Will Be DoingAs a centralized Eligibility Technician II, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations for Title IV-E and Medicaid programs on behalf of children in the state's custody and children in Tribal custody under a Tribal/State agreement. You will perform independent case work, process Medicaid for all children in a state adoption and guardianship subsidy, and assist with applications for Social Security benefits. You will identify, research, and resolve inconsistencies and discrepancies to reach an appropriate determination or redetermination of eligibility. You will provide coverage for vacant positions, become an expert on court orders, and support centralized eligibility functions.

Working Environment You Can ExpectThis is a high-paced position with varying job duties depending on the time of year. It's part of a unit with work that integrates between each other on a daily basis.

We Are Seeking a Candidate with the Following Competencies:

Minimum Requirements:One year of entry-level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska;

OR

One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.

Substitution :Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).
