Position Description Bluebird Kids Health is seeking a dynamic and compassionate HR and People leader with a
patient and family-first mindset
to serve as Head of People. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping overall culture and experience in pursuit of growth and furthering our mission, at scale. Reporting to the COO, the Head of People will be responsible for leading all aspects of HR while fostering a vibrant and inclusive workplace environment. Areas of well-rounded expertise should include, talent acquisition, talent management, talent development, HR operations (benefits, compensation and HR technology), people experience, employee relations and HR compliance. What Youll Do
(Duties & Responsibilities) Strategic People Leadership & Operations In collaboration with the leadership team, defines and implements HR/People strategies and initiatives that support and elevate Bluebird Kids Healths mission and values. Keeps current on HR best practices and effectively communicates strategy to key stakeholders. Provides oversight and direction for HR people, processes, technology, with strong focus on PEO relationship(s), strategy and delivery. Oversees the development, comparison and administration of competitive Total Rewards programs across corporate and clinic settings, including compensation and benefits programs. Responsible for maintaining relationships with key external partners and brokers critical to operational success (i.e. PEO, benefits, compensation, technology, etc.). Leverages HR subject matter expertise to support prospective practice acquisition(s) and diligence. Talent Acquisition, Management & Development Builds and oversees the recruiting people and processes that attract top talent who are passionate about the Bluebird Kids Health mission, cultivating an A+ organizational culture. Implements engaging and effective onboarding programs to integrate new hires and acquisitions seamlessly into the company culture and model. Creates, manages and facilitates performance management process(es) to drive employee engagement and development, both at corporate and clinic/healthcare delivery settings. People Experience & Engagement Promotes service excellence and deliberately crafts people experience strategies, with the goal of delighting customers and winning believers in the Bluebird Kids Health organization. Establishes, manages and facilitates employee sensing strategies to provide strategic insight around employee retention, engagement, and turnover. Spearheads workforce planning projects, analysis and initiatives, both within the clinic and corporate environments respectively. Employee Relations & HR Compliance Manages employee relations investigations and counsels leadership and staff as needed. Advises on employee discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Monitors and ensures organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. *Perform other duties as assigned What Youll Need
(Education, Experience, Certifications) Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Possess 10+ years of progressive experience in HR & People, with healthcare and startup experience strongly preferred. Possess 3+ years of managing HR staff. Must have dedicated experience working with professional employer organizations (PEOs), with Insperity PEO experience preferred. Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Experience-focused, proactive, and results oriented. Proven track record of driving HR initiatives that are aligned and support business objectives.
