Certification Details BLS Oregon License Job Requirements Oregon License Required The facility is willing to request a 90 Day Emergency License Experience or 'Must have' skills: None okay with first time travelers Are RNs required to titrate drips? No Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? 1 charge nurse on each shift, with no assignment Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Yes, 1:9 on Days and 1:11 on Nights, blood sugars, VS, etc Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 12 hour shifts on the unit of orientation Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling: 12Hr shifts - 0645-1915, 1845-0715, 2-week rotation core schedule, manager makes schedule but will consider block scheduling Weekend Requirement: Every other: Days- Sat, Sunday, and Nights- Fri, Sat Holiday Requirement: Every other: Days are Day of, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, etc. Nights are Eves, Day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, NYE etc. Is there Call or a Standby requirement? No, could be placed on standby/ call three times during contract, or volunteer for it Floating Requirements: Rotation if needed to surgical floor & PCU, within skillset Unit Specific Information Unit: MedSurg of Beds: 53 Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 on Days, 1:6 on Nights Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? Black pants, scrub tops of choice (solid or appropriate print) Additional Details Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Pneumonia, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, COVID, stroke, overflow general surgical, oncology-some implanted radiation Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin per protocol, antibiotics RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): Cpap, occasional Bipap Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? RN not required to read tele, on site monitor tech Additional Notes: Have a lot of new grads and travelers, welcoming team and family feel on unit, option to go perm if a good fit
