This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarilyat an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.

Job Description

Supervises and trains members of the shuttle service team and the support staff responsible for transporting members of the NAU campus community. Maintains a good relationship with the university community and serves as a liaison with other transportation agencies to ensure efficient flow of traffic. Adheres to university strategic plans and ensures relevant support staff follow institutional policies.

Administrative – 30%Maintaining accurate records for all P-Card transactions.Connect with vendors possible repairs as needed to maintain the shuttle department fleet.Organizes and archives records and documents.Manages daily, weekly and monthly updates to ShiftBoard schedules for driver’s routes and shifts.Van class registrations and class training schedulingCDLE communication and documentation.Fulfills duties of Bus Driver when needed.Evening crew training and supervision.Provides training and general support for campus shuttle employees.Assists in department planning and goal setting as requested.Supervises – 30%

Ensure Shuttle staff adheres to university policy and procedures.Support internal Staff to maintain performance and professional conduct.Coordinates daily and evening shuttle operations.Makes recommendations for additions or modifications to university supported shuttle services and areas of development related to campus shuttle functions.Serves as a liaison to the campus community and resolves issues in a timely manner.Responds to calls for service and supervises shuttle staff on performance and conduct.Understands and applies knowledge of appropriate handling of university shuttle information.Coordinates or assists with CDL Training program.Makes day-to-day decisions regarding work priorities; provides input into employment performance feedback.Staffing – 20%

Participates in the interview process for new potential candidates.Engage with the Recruitment and Onboarding staff procedures for the successful hiring of new staffData Monitoring – 15%

Monitors and updates campus shuttle data to ensure access to accurate and timely information.Report important findings to leadership team.Other – 5%

Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field.1-2 years of management or supervisory experience required.Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience.Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications

Driving high occupancy or CDL class vehicles between campus locations is a required job activity. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver’s license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed.The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting.If you are applying for a job that requires a CDL, you will be required to register with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and adhere to the clearinghouse requirements.Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States.Finally, each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report . The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campushason-campus student housing. Salary

Salary range begins at $51,085. Annual salarycommensurate with candidate's qualifications and relatedexperience.

FLSA Status

This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.

This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position. Employees will have 31 days from their start date to enroll in benefits. General Information

Environments consist of primarily indoor but on some occasions to working outdoors with temperature variations.Occasionally as department needs or dictates managers will need to drive shuttles, vans and buses.Scheduling needs may vary as the needs of the department change.Travel offsite will be needed on occasion to support NAU and the team in different capacities.Collaborative with team members and other NAU campus departments.
