Position Summary

The Quality, Safety, and Compliance Office (QSCO, within the Department of Internal Medicine) seeks a Manager of Clinical Quality Improvement to manage a Quality Assurance Program through the design implementation, coordination, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives for the Department. This position will collect, develop, analyze, and communicate a wide range of institutional data that will be used to establish benchmarks and to support decision-making, problem-solving, and planning forcontinuous quality improvements. The incumbent will be expected to develop and maintain databases necessary for the functionnoted above and ensure data integrity. This position will work synergistically with UNMH, UNMMG, and Quality Outcomes to ensure consistency of practice throughout the system.

Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in project planning, leadership, communication, and trainingExperience identifying and resolving data problems, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistencyWorking knowledge and experience in improving healthcare quality and safetyExperience querying databases to obtain data to answer clinical questionsAdvanced training or degree in a field applicable to quality and performance improvementSpecific training in performance improvement methodologyWorking knowledge of UNM policy, procedure, and systemsExperience in supporting revenue cycle management
