Job Summary:
The Product Technical Support Specialist is responsible for analyzing and communicating technical product issues involving all products and attachments that the company rents and services to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and MissionSupports TFR by evaluating, analyzing, and advising on CAT and Allied product issuesResearches product issues using CAT and Allied machine tools, platforms, and systems including using failure analysis to determine the root causeCommunicates solutions in an accurate and timely mannerAttends manufacturer training as needed, including any vendor training necessary for warranty requirementsFacilitates and conducts product-specific training in the field, as neededAdvises and reports all pertinent technical data to field and shop service to ensure satisfaction of our product and maintain alignment of Company Core ValuesManages product support tooling and databases to ensure the success of key service functions including CAT and allied campaigns and service lettersLiaisons with all manufacturers and departments regarding product issues to provide effective solutions to machine repairShares responsibility with other team members in acting in a manner that ensures continued stability and growth of all members of the teamRecords solutions and recommendations in a shared databaseFacilitates technical calls during both office hours and after hours, as neededWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to explain safety practices, mechanical repair, service procedures, and techniquesKnowledge of CAT and Allied models/machines in the Texas First Rentals fleetAbility to explain and demonstrate safe operation procedures, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting of machine systemsComputer and software knowledge, including intermediate-level skills in Excel and WordGeneral mathematical skills include basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and divisionAdvanced skills in repairing hydraulic and electric systemsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to understand technical manuals, software specifications, hardware principles of operation, and systems software operationsAbility to think logically for interpreting and analyzing problems assigned or encounteredAbility to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutionsOrganizational ability and confidence to work independentlyEducation and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferredThree or more years of work-related experience as a technician in rental equipment repair or a related field requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:

It will be occasionally performed remotely and/or at other TFR shop and field locations as needed to support technicians
