Position Objective/Summary:
The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of the forklift aftermarket parts business. This position will be responsible for creating buying strategies that takes into account vendor quality including delivery times to the end customer and making sure the correct parts are available at the right time for the right cost in order to deliver the best customer experience possible.
Essential Functions
Create and maintain a vendor scorecard that measures performance in the area of on time delivery, quality and delivery standards.Develop, lead, and execute procurement strategies for the companyManaging supplier on-boarding and maintenance, including contract negotiationOversee the management of material requirements and inventory for current and new product development.Hire and provide leadership to the buyers of aftermarket parts to include training and broadening technical.Increase margin and revenue for aftermarket parts by developing cost effective strategies.Implement & manage procurement delivery systems and processes, developing policy and procedures for supplier agreements and procurement policies as requiredBuilding and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers while continually scouting and procuring additional vendorsDevelop, manage, and publish a vendor scorecard and overall performance of the aftermarket parts purchasing team.Oversee efforts of buyers as they work with engineering, product management, sales, customer service, and finance to develop new product offerings, special projects, and special pricing proposals and supply agreements.Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveriesApprove new potential suppliers and disqualification of existing suppliers.Perform annual performance reviews and establish annual goals and objectives with staff.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, or business administration2+ years' experience as a purchasing/procurement supervisory role in a manufacturing operationExperience with sourcing and vendor managementSolid judgment along with decision making skillsStrong leadership capabilitiesIn-depth knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures, and principles.Skill in negotiating tactics and strategies.Ability to communicate effectively with others through clear and concise data driven facts that support the vision and mission of CLARK Material Handling CompanyMust be able to work in the US indefinitely without sponsorshipMust be willing to travel 25% of your time both domestically and internationally
