Pay: $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience

Job Description
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs.
This role ensures that the manufacturing facility complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
The Safety Manager will work closely with all departments to cultivate a culture of safety and continuous improvement, reducing the risk of workplace accidents and promoting the well-being of all employees.
Responsibilities
Safety Program Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the facility, equipment, and work processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Lead the development and execution of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and first-aid programs.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to design and implement safety improvements in processes and equipment.
Training and Education:
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, job-specific training, and ongoing safety education.
Ensure that all employees are aware of safety protocols and understand their roles in maintaining a safe work environment.
Stay up to date with the latest safety trends, regulations, and best practices, and incorporate them into training programs.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
Establish and manage a system for reporting, investigating, and documenting workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses.
Conduct thorough investigations into incidents to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Work with HR and management to ensure timely and accurate reporting of injuries and illnesses to relevant authorities.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that the facility is in compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports.
Serve as the point of contact for safety-related inspections and audits by regulatory agencies.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead safety committees and initiatives to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.
Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted safety programs.
Collaborate with management to integrate safety into production processes and decision-making.
Leadership and Communication:
Act as a safety advocate within the organization, promoting a culture of safety through strong leadership and effective communication.
Provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees on safety matters, ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to safety management.
Participate in cross-functional teams to address safety-related issues and contribute to overall operational excellence.
Requirements:
3+ years in a production supervisor or lead role - Experience in plastics manufacturing is a huge plus!
EHS experience
Ability to maintain OSHA logs.
Proficiency in OSHA regulations and health and safety standards.
Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
Experience in incident reporting and investigation.
Proficiency in environmental safety and risk assessment.
