This position involves handling personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death. The attorney will manage cases from inception through resolution, including settlement negotiations, litigation, and trial work.Duties:
Litigate personal injury cases from filing to resolution.Negotiate pre-litigation and litigation settlements with insurance companies and defense counsel.Draft and propound discovery.Conduct and defend depositions.Prepare pleadings and law and motion documents.Appear in court for hearings and motions.Perform legal writing and research.Provide excellent client service and maintain communication with clients.Prepare pre-trial motions, including motions in limine.Participate in trial preparation and chair trials.Review cases for potential settlements and draft settlement demands.Communicate with insurance companies and defense counsel regarding case progress.Requirements:
1-3 years of experience handling personal injury cases.Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California.Strong understanding of California civil procedure, especially for State Court cases.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Bilingual in Spanish and/or Armenian is a plus.Ability to work full-time with occasional on-call and weekend availability.Must have reliable transportation and be self-motivated to handle cases under the supervision of the managing attorney.Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of California.Skills:
Strong negotiation skills for settling cases.Proficiency in drafting legal documents, pleadings, and motions.Experience in taking and defending depositions.Strong legal research and writing abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Armenian is advantageous.
