Travel Trainer
is tasked with training individuals on the utilization of public transportation. The
Travel Trainer
will assess for appropriateness for independent public transportation use, create personalized lesson plans, and educate individuals on a wide range of travel skills including: trip planning, street crossing, bus and train travel, map and schedule reading, and safety skills, while utilizing public transportation. The
Travel Trainer
will also research, identify, create, and present custom presentations for new referral program opportunities within the community.Location:
3851 N Steele St, Unit 1479 Denver, CO 80205What you’ll do:Complete in-person intake and assessment for each applicantMake determinations whether or not an applicant is qualified to receive training based on the results of the assessment(s)Create and provide one-on-one, individualized field training
Demonstrate and instruct individuals on transit skillsDemonstrate and instruct individuals on how to travel routes including navigation and way-finding strategiesInstruct individuals on self-advocacy
Create lesson plans that are appropriate for individuals of different learning levelsResearch and identify opportunities to enhance the referral program within the community, creating custom presentations for this outreachConduct group presentationsEstablish relationships with professionals in the field, community and advocacy organizationsSchedule training at the time and location of the specific routes requestedConduct outreach to develop materialsProvide in class and in-the-field training to professionalsComplete all reports and paperwork including but not limited to; initial intake, goal setting and plan, progressive evaluation, pre and post-test, final and follow-up report, satisfaction surveyMust conform to MTM’s HIPAA standardsWhat you’ll need:Experience, Education & Certifications:High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalentFamiliarity with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)Skills:Ability to work flexible hours, in all weather conditionsAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityDemonstrated training skills, comfortable leading groups of peopleStrong interpersonal skills that allow for effective working relationshipsIntermediate level of proficiency or above with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and OutlookExcellent communication skillsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsEven better if you have...Associate’s degree in Education, Human Services, or Healthcare preferredBilingual in SpanishTravel training experience preferredExperience working with disability and/or community advocacy organizations preferredFamiliarity with the transit agency system preferredWhat’s in it for you:Health and Life Insurance PlansDental and Vision Plans401(k) with a company matchPaid Time Off and Holiday PayMaternity/Paternity LeaveCasual Dress EnvironmentTuition ReimbursementMTM Perks Discount ProgramLeadership Mentoring OpportunitiesSalary Min:
