Our tutoring programs are proven to increase student success. We hire and train 150 undergraduate students each year as certified tutors.JOB SUMMARYThe Tutor Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the Small Group Tutoring Program and Large Group Tutoring programs, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of LSS. Responsibilities include leading the selection, hiring, training, and supervision of undergraduate tutors, assisting in the planning and implementation of LSS tutor training program, and maintaining regular collection and organization of the utilization of LSS programs.JOB DUTIES80% - Tutor Program CoordinatorDelivers academic programs to students via LSS academic support programs.Coordinates the hiring, supervision, and evaluation process for all LSS tutors.Implements established policies for the Tutoring program.Assists in the development of new policies.Leads the implementation and maintenance of the center's tutor sign-up system TutorHub.Mentors and creates appropriate training opportunities for tutors.Conducts observations of tutors throughout the quarter.Analyzes the utilization of LSS programs and generates ideas for improvement.Assists in measuring the impact of all tutoring programs.Uses campus data systems as needed to assist students.Creates and maintains employee and hiring records for student employees.20% - Establishes and Maintains Partnerships with Organization Departments and UnitsServes as a liaison to academic departments and other student service units.Represents LSS at meetings.Works closely with EOP, DRC, STARS, and other student support service programs.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Cultural competency skills.Prior experience with collaborative learning or peer-based learning models (at least 2 years).Experience in training and supervising tutorial and student staff.Outstanding oral and written communication skills.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTSelected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.Ability to work long periods of time at a computer.Ability to work overtime including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.SAFETY STATEMENTAll UCSC employees must understand and follow job safety procedures and report actual and potential accidents and injuries.EEO/AAThe University of California is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
