Midwest Machinery, Co. is adding an experienced Precision Farming Director! This position can office out of any of our 30 locations throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Midwest Machinery, Co. (MMC) is a full-service John Deere dealership that provides Agricultural, Consumer, and Construction Worksite Products from seventeen locations in central Minnesota.

Purpose:Leads the direction for the company involving all components of John Deere’s Precision Farming strategy including customer support, new AMS products, and other value-added services provided by MMC. Develops and executes mainstreaming initiatives involving Precision Farming within all departments.
Responsibilities:
Oversees the organization’s Precision Farming strategy directly and indirectly via providing leadership and direction to the Precision Farming Manager as well as all other department leadership including Sales, Service, and Parts.
Provides leadership across the organization for integrating and mainstreaming Precision Farming Products offered through John Deere and other vendors within all departments.
Creates and executes a John Deere Agriculture Management Solutions (AMS) Marketing Plan.
Assists in the development of employee training for AMS products and value-added PF services.
Manages accountability for all metrics on John Deere’s enablement scorecard.
Sets goals for the PF Department involving AMS sales, training, mainstreaming, and other strategic initiatives built around John Deere’s enablement scorecard.
Identifies customer and market needs in order to develop comprehensive services and solutions to address those needs.
Assists the Precision Farming Manager with revenue generation/recovery initiatives built around customer support for the Precision Farming team.
Manages customer technology adoption rates as well as customer follow-up processes and customer satisfaction issues related to the product line.
Provides support for advanced customer training (including desktop software products) offered through John Deere.
Identifies and assists in training opportunities for customer education programs involving Precision Farming.
Identifies and assists training opportunities for Precision Farming Consultants.
Serves as the internal and external dealership technical specialist relative to new technologies from Deere or other vendors.
Builds strategic outline for new technological development roll-outs including marketing plans, internal training, customer demonstrations, and eventually mainstreaming.
Facilitates the organization’s Customer Satisfaction Program to enhance and maintain customer relationships relative to service support.
Attends to employee & inter-departmental issues in a fair and expedient manner.
Actively participates in a local civic, charitable, or community organization: holds office in same at least once every 4 years.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
5+ years’ experience in an agriculture technology related role.
Basic understanding of electrical and wireless communication systems.
Knowledge of database software and computer application systems.
Ability to operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer needs.
Ability to think strategically.
Demonstrates leadership, organizational, management, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group.
Associates degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, or Agriculture Mechanization or equivalent experience.
Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to business operations.
Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
Basic business knowledge and math skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CCA accreditation preferred but not required.
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements:
Frequent travel between locations; some out-of-state travel required.
Frequent travel to customer locations.
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required.
Acceptable background and credit history.

$70,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
