The team will focus on analyzing future society and customer trends that will affect future mobility. These leaders work to turn these inputs from market, consumer trends and values, and competitor products into a sound business cases for Honda to compete.Strategy Planners manage a section of the Mid-Term strategy for the Advanced Planning Department. These leaders manage the team of Engineers/Stylists/Analysts in setting the strategy to on how to compete. Activities include defining the product role, target customer, customers willingness to pay and proposal of technology applications.This position requires high level collaboration between AHM, AHM R&D, HDMA, 4MOC and 4ji to align future customers, products, and strategies.
Key Accountabilities
Market Analysis - Conduct market/customer research and analysis to provide product requirements to the development teams. Requirements include customer demographics, customer desires, styling elements, critical characteristics, and features. Evaluate and assess marketability of future technologies and propose appropriate application.Product Strategy - Set the direction of assigned vehicle(s) to ensure the most competitive product offering and support division & corporate goals, including product role, target customer and key product needs. Utilizing extensive experience, judgement, and knowledge of the subject matter, advise the staff on creative matters to ensure the final product output matches the original intention and targets.Future Sensing - Maintains a thorough understanding of the automotive market, consumer preferences and company strategy. Can lead a team to conduct sensing, as requested.Support corporate objectives with critical information for how to compete in the future. Supports long-term department vision and department goals to achieve Division targets.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
4-year college degreeideally with a major in business, marketing, or engineering related field, or equivalent work-related experienceMBA preferred.Ideal candidate would have 4-8 years of experience in vehicle development, planning, research or corporate strategy with an automotive OEM.Experience in the area of product planning, product development or brand management is preferredStrong enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, the automotive industry, products and technologyKnowledge of all disciplines associated with Automotive Development, Research, Sales and ManufacturingPossess critical thinking, business judgement, negotiating, analytical and presentation skillsDemonstrated strength in leadership and collaborationUnderstanding of macroeconomic factors that impact the industryStrong proficiency with MS Office is required, especially PowerPoint and Excel.Ability to demonstrate ideation/concept generation in a fast-paced environmentConsumer research and analysis skills, including statistical analysis skillsProficient of planning tools such as MTAB, PIN, etc.
