Join us in making a difference! The Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility is a collaborative effort between Washington State's Department of Social and Health Services, Department of Children, Youth, and Families, Health Care Authority, with vital support from MultiCare and Seattle Children's Hospital.
As the
Director of Nursing , you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality care for youth residents. We're seeking a compassionate leader who can effectively manage staff and oversee program operations, ensuring that medical care standards are met for every resident.
This facility is designed with children and youth in mind, initially opening with 12 beds and 108 full-time staff, with plans to grow to 24 beds and 196 full-time employees. The space is tailored to provide accessible educational services, therapies, and outdoor areas for the youth it serves. This voluntary care facility serves youth ages 13 and older who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with complex needs such as mental illness or substance use disorder.
Some of what you will doPlan, organize, direct, supervise, and evaluate all nursing services provided to youth servedManage, plan, lead, and organize facility nursing services, including individualized levels of nursing care to youthEnsure compliance and training needs through programs, such as utilization review, quality assurance, infection control and medication error reviewCollaborate with medical staff and affiliated representatives, planning for needs and improvements of nursing and health care programs and their ongoing complianceEnsure the nursing needs of facility and transitioning youth are metMaintain the nursing department at an optimal level of nursing staff readiness to ensure coverage of all shiftsWho should apply:
A valid Washington State license to practice as a registered nurse, or the ability to obtain one by the start of employmentGraduation from an accredited school of professional nursingAnd, 4 years* of professional nursing experience, which includes 2 years in a lead capacity over other nursing personnel; or one year of full-time experience teaching nursing; concurrent work experience should include:

Additional information
