The Program Manager will be knowledgeable in community outreach, business consulting, training, and counseling to support small businesses affected by rail construction in the San Fernando Valley. As an ambassador for the organization, this person is also responsible for actively supporting the overall mission and vision of NEW.Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct assessments to create goal-oriented action plans for each segment along the East San Fernando Valley (ESFV) Light Rail Transit Project.Formulate, prepare, and schedule business workshops/meetings to prepare small businesses to apply for assigned grants.Manage a large client database to assure client profiles are complete and accurate.Work in a team environment to plan and execute events as designated by the Program Director.Prepare monthly goals and program impact reports.Document that at least 25 one-on-one business contacts are reached per week.Create and maintain attendance logs for each workshop/meeting coordinated or hosted.Coordinate the program’s outreach efforts with local elected officials, community/business groups, PCR and NEW Women’s Business Center (WBC).Complete a confidential profile for each client who participates in the program with all the details required by the SBA-641 including but not limited to NAICS code, referred by, demographics. A monthly report on the progress of clients is required.Attend the weekly meetings and the quarterly department and MTA meetings.Prepare and submit required reporting for governmental agencies, grants, and other institutions based on program criteria.Meet deadlines, adapt to change, anticipate problems, and solve them, including working with people, making decisions, following guidelines and/or dealing with clients via email or phone, with a maximum of 24 hours response.Assist with government audits, including the preparation and submission of data, to the requesting party.Remain current on construction schedule of ESFV Light Rail Transit Project, as well as legislation and regulatory rulings impacting the program. Help enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on required actions.Meet deadlines and maintain excellent quality customer relations.Support all programs of NEW as needed.Be available on a call basis such as substituting a Program Manager or Coordinator.Work with management to maintain a brand consistency in every activity.Build relationships, embrace individuality, and foster a culture of growth mindset.Able to multi-task.Be present at the office at least four times a week.The working location will be assigned to the Van Nuys office.Receive a laptop with all software necessary including a direct phone line from the organization to operate the program.The dress code is business casual to maintain a professional environment.Staff’s minors are not allowed to be at the office during working hours or present while meeting with a client.Perform other duties based on business needs or as assigned.Follow all NEW policies and procedures for employees.Qualifications and Experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.Excellent verbal, organizational, and written communication skills, including time management.Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks and projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented.Education

BA/BS in Management, Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years’ experience in program management.Additional Requirements

Work four times a week from Van Nuys office.Must have access to reliable transportation and provide proof of current California driver’s license, acceptable driving record (current DMV H6 printout), and current liability auto insurance.Fingerprinting and TB Clearance.Flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends.New Economics for Women (NEW) is an equal opportunity employer.
