Mercy Medical Center, a leader in the Maryland Nurse Residency Collaborative, offers a 12 month Nurse residency Program (NRP) designed to provide orientation, support, mentorship and education for the new graduate nurse. The nurse resident will benefit from comprehensive and individualized attention that focuses on opportunities for enhanced clinical and leadership skills, as well as continual professional development.Since 2002 the NRP has provided health care organizations with a transition-to-practice program for new graduate nurses. BSN PreferredMust be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure ExamMust obtain 10 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused.Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.Must possess 0-1 year of current clinical experienceCurrent Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hireRN LicenseMust possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Access, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Meditech, Epic, Performance Manager/NetLearningMust be able to follow written and oral instructions.Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Benefits
