Senior Account Manager
is a critical member of the Commercial Insurance Team, working side by side Sales Executives, Loss Control & Claims Consultants, and Account Coordinators to manage the insurance program for large, complex businesses and key clients.The primary role of the Senior Account Manager is to successfully manage a proactive service strategy for each client that delivers high retention outcomes, account growth, and referral opportunities through needs-based consultation. This includes managing activities such as the annual service calendar, coordinating agency and Alera resources, managing client deliverables, and identifying new capabilities to provide solutions to clients. The Senior Account Manager has proven expertise in advanced technical solutions across insurance brokerage and risk management and is committed to mentoring new and developing team members through structured training, account transitions, and identifying informal opportunities for education and support.Responsibilities:Manage a designated book of business in alignment with advanced technical knowledge.Achieve positive retention and growth outcomes by delivering effective service, marketing, claims, renewal, and account development strategies, in collaboration with appropriate internal and external business partners.Effectively transition identified accounts to Account Managers growing a book of business through mentorship and training, to create capacity for new business and up-market clients.Lead renewal strategy including marketing approach, client communication & deliverables, identifying additional coverages or services to offer specific to the client, and setting proper expectations on decision timing and process to bind coverage.Coordinate the delivery of both agency and Alera capabilities for our clients that align with the commitments made during the sales process or renewal strategy meeting. Demonstrate the value of these resources with data-based analysis on an annual basis.Develop and maintain strong underwriter relationships by maintaining a partnership approach to marketing and client management.Negotiate on behalf of clients with carriers and other service providers by building a business case based in facts and information.Effectively collaborate and utilize Account Coordinator team. Certifications, schedules, proposals, and other appropriate tasks should primarily be managed by Account Coordinator.Lead adoption and adherence to established client deliverables, agency best practices, and technology solutions to support early process development and increased adoption throughout the team. The Senior Account Manager is a role model that leads by example.Demonstrate leadership and technical expertise by providing meaningful and constructive feedback in team meetings including one on ones, small groups, and where otherwise appropriate.Manage claim reporting client experience throughout claims process to ensure the claim is being handled timely and fairly. Engage Loss Control and Claims Consulting team as appropriate.Master internal client management systems including ImageRight and AMS 360.Identify and assist in developing cross selling opportunities.Pursue a program for personal and professional development.Create and maintain a positive work environment build trust, open communication, creative thinking & cohesive teamwork. Support Lighthouse Group culture through leading by example.Perform other duties and projects as established.Qualifications:
Advanced technical knowledge of commercial insurance with a minimum of 5 years of experiencePossess a Property, Casualty LicensePossess a professional insurance designation such as CIC and/or CPCUThorough understanding of underwriting and insurance coverageAbility to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate insurance coverageDemonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse individualsAbility to effectively work with a large variety of internal and external business partnersExceptional organizational, attention to detail and time management skillsBasic understanding and use of Microsoft Office productsVery strong verbal and written communication abilities
