Job Overview:Working within the NCI Project Management Department, the Project Manager is responsible for full life cycle project management for a variety of customers. The Project Manager ensures the project scope is established, resources are properly allocated, budget is maintained, and project deliverables are met on time and within budget at the satisfaction of the customer.
Responsibilities:
Identifies project stakeholders and determines their needs and expectations.
Manage multiple projects at one time and align with the broader company goals.
Initiate project, evaluate requirements and communicate project requirements to the other departments.
Work within the companies established procedures and work instructions.
Manage cross-functional teams to work cohesively toward the project’s goals and manage conflicts that may arise from differing departmental views.
Work with schedule department to release the initial project schedule. Maintain the schedule throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Assess project requirements and identify risks. Adopt measures to mitigate the risk.
Monitor the project budget. Perform monthly updates to include cost and cost to complete which will be used by accounting for their percentage of completion method to recognize revenue.
Responsible for change management, documentation and reporting, to eliminate any potential scope creep.
Ensure that Nikkiso quality and EHS standards are maintained.
Maintain clear and timely communication with other departments to keep the project moving and avoid delays.
Develop a record of lessons learned throughout the project to review with team at the end of the project and work management to implement changes as needed for continuous improvement.
Host customers and/or their representatives during visits to Nikkiso.
Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
PMP certification is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with Microsoft Project.
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
Must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of project management standards and best practices.
Must possess data management and problem-solving expertise.
Able to evaluate situations quickly and accurately.
Skilled in motivating fellow team members to excel.
Experience resolving conflicts and promoting organizational effectiveness.
Must have change management and customer relations management experience.
Excellent negotiation skills are a must.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
Lifting up to 30 lbs. may be required.
A valid driver’s license for any business travel, including that done between the NCI facilities and its local vendors, is required.
A valid passport is required for international travel to meet with customers for project kick-off meetings, technical review meetings and/or general meetings as requested by the customer. Typical travel for domestic and international locations are approximately 3-5 separate weeks per year.
Environmental Safety Requirements:
New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness.
All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director.
Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
