Job Details:Job Description Summary:Cubic Defense is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support the development and execution of cutting-edge Army Training Systems within our Research and Development (R&D) division. The DPM will play a critical role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of Army training systems. This position requires a strong background in program management, a deep understanding of military training protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Program Manager in the overall management and execution of Army training systems R&D projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and customer requirements.

Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and within-scope delivery of training system solutions.

Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and support teams to ensure technical feasibility and integration of new technologies into existing training systems.

Conduct risk management assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.

Facilitate communication between internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders to ensure project alignment and resolve issues efficiently.

Prepare and present project status reports, briefings, and updates to senior management and military stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and standards, including DoD acquisition processes and cybersecurity requirements.

Support proposal development and contract negotiations for new and ongoing projects.

Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years in a defense-related field, ideally focusing on military training systems.

Proven experience managing complex R&D projects with a strong understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition lifecycle.

Demonstrated knowledge of Army training systems, simulation technologies, and current military training methodologies.

Demonstrated financial management skills including development and control of program budgets, schedules, Estimate at Complete (EAC), and the ability to recognize and capture program changes.

Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leaders and stakeholders effectively.

Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Microsoft Office suite).

Strong understanding of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) is preferred.

Primavera P6 experience is preferred.

PMP certification is preferred.

Active Secret clearance or above is preferred.

Willing and able to travel up to 10%.

Pay Range:$118,029 to $144,257
