Position Summary:
The Assistant Spa Director is responsible for spa operations in a luxury environment. The position is salaried and comes with autonomy, respect, along with guidance on honing leadership skills. Essential Functions:
Maintaining and ensuring all team members are delivering 5 Star Service and following the Stein Way.
Actively seek ways to continuously improve the Forbes Five Star standard both in the guest experience and facilities.
Assist with all Spa operations to include, but not limited to, guest service, product quality and innovation, inventory management and cost controls, systems use and management, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation.
Assist the Spa Director to promote spa services to maximize overall revenue through marketing efforts and up-selling techniques.
Assist with monitoring operations for our sister properties within the Stein Collection.
Assist with coordinating Wellness classes offered on and off property.
Provide support and coaching for Spa Management Team to determine best work practices for the Spa.
Monitor scheduling for all service provider staff to ensure appropriate coverage based on business levels. Review and prepare staff schedules, approve schedule changes and time off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
Work closely with Spa Director to coordinate block times for groups within their contract. Pre-bill and set up all services with discounts in advance when possible.
Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly.
Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
Recruit and interview new team members.
Ensure team members have current knowledge of spa products, services, facilities, events and pricing and policies by coordinating regular training for front of house, reservations staff, and service providers.
Provide assistance to Lead Therapist with inventory training, supply, and control policy and procedures for professional backbar.
Provide assistance with Payroll, including gratuity and incentive payouts.
Resolve guest issues and concerns to guest satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Personal Characteristics:
Must be outgoing and friendly.
Must have a genuine willingness to provide uncompromising service to guests.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle stress graciously.
Must present a professional personal appearance according to Stein Eriksen standards.
Must have multitasking skills and critical thinking skills to solve problems.
Education, Experience, and Skills Preferred:
Minimum 2 years spa experience working in a luxury environment.

Responsible, dependable and team player.
Must be self-motivated and have strong organizational skills.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day.
Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
