Freedom is looking for a Transportation Director of Safety to join our team! Apply now by emailing your resume to Tammy Bennett: tammy@freedomtransusa.com.The Transportation Director of Safety is responsible for the overall safety and compliance programs regarding driver training, claims management, DOT compliance, and orientation for a fleet of over 100 company drivers and OO's based in Gainesville, Georgia, and Dallas, Texas.Duties / Responsibilities:Coordinate safety training for company drivers and OO's on a monthly and post-incident basis.Collaborate closely with dispatch staff in Georgia and Texas for support and development.Attend industry events and travel to Texas occasionally for support and training.Collaborate with recruiting and terminal management on training schedules/documentation.Monitor driver performance and provide corrective action, coaching, and motivation as needed.Be available for safety issues after-hours and weekends as needed.Bobtail trucks around town on occasion.Intake and manage all auto liability, cargo, and work comp claims.Supervise and delegate work and schedules to safety staff.Oversee and manage drug and alcohol testing program.Oversee and manage hours of compliance.Oversee and manage dash cam behavior through Samsara software.Manage CDL monitoring through SuperVision software.Monitor performance of fuel usage, safety training, and equipment inspections.Develop and implement safety initiatives.Audit Driver files (MVRs, Health Cards, DOT medical requirements, etc.).Keep and verify accurate records on Company, FMCSA and DOT requirements.Help plan, coordinate, train, and support new driver orientation process.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:5 years minimum in the trucking field as a DOT safety professional.CDL preferred.Team Player.Driver Retention focused.In the role of Transportation Safety Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe transportation of goods and personnel. Reporting to the senior management team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining a culture of safety within the organization.
