Overview

We are currently seeking to expand our capabilities with the addition of a

Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy, Business Development & Market Insights

within our Strategy & Growth group in Denver, CO. The selected candidate will join a small team of investment professionals who work with and support Summit’s senior leadership, and regional and functional management teams in the development and execution of Summit’s organic and inorganic (acquisition-led) growth strategy.

Responsibilities & Objectives

Support the Summit leadership team in the development and execution of Summit’s organic and acquisition-led growth strategy.

Lead analytical assessments and facilitate strategic review of current operational and financial performance, market attractiveness, and performance/growth outlook to develop strategic action plans.

Active role in development of Summit’s annual strategic planning process, including facilitation and leadership of regional and operational planning activities.

Ownership of strategic projects such as large internal capital investments, market expansion initiatives, and enterprise capabilities enhancement.

Support of enterprise strategy pursuits, portfolio optimization, competitive positioning, and transformational transactions.

Design and develop market evaluation tools/processes to define platform demand and consumer landscape.

Build a comprehensive market intelligence platform/dashboard in collaboration with IT.

Drive identification of industry-thought leading data intelligence partnerships.

Leadership of M&A due diligence process and transaction negotiation.

Financial analysis, financial modeling, and valuation development to support acquisitions.

Presentation of acquisition opportunities to the Summit executive management team and the Summit Board of Directors.

Contribution to scenario planning, including acquisition and divestiture cases.

Organization and development of internal management communications.

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a top university with a record of top-tier achievement.

5+ years’ experience in consulting, investment banking, or industry strategy roles preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and business plan analysis.

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others.

Demonstrated project management capabilities; proactive and able to work independently.

Excellent research capabilities and ability to synthesize industry research.

Ability to conduct rigorous financial modeling and analysis; significant experience with Excel a must.

Familiarity with and the ability to analyze financial statements.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Familiarity with mergers & acquisitions, finance, and accounting a plus.

Experience with leveraged buyout (LBO) models.
