RETAIL MANAGER .WORK SCHEDULE:

100% FTE, Days, OnsitePOSITION HIGHLIGHTS:This position is responsible for operating and overseeing all retail operations at UWMC-NW including off-site locations (CBHL Café, Trillium Café, Starbucks licensed store(s) and NW espresso stands).Independently manage multiple locations to support the mission of excellence in offerings and customer service to all patients, staff, and visitors with a wide variety of food and beverage offerings.Provides leadership, makes decisions, sets goals to assure the department meets or exceeds standards; organizes and coordinates all administrative, staffing, and retail operations. The manager leads and mentors supervisors and staff to achieve organizational/departmental mission, goals, and objectives.DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Patient Nutrition department supports UWMC's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.Our vision is to create a supportive and empowering workplace for all, provide unparalleled experiences for our customers and patients, and improve the quality of life and health of the public.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Administers the POS system as well as chip readers and proprietary Starbucks POS systems.Responsible for sales reporting and growth in all areas. Oversees the Starbucks reporting to Starbucks, including royalty and marketing payments. Responsible for proposing and executing price point increases in all areas including reprogramming registers, signage updates, staff education and training, in addition to maintaining parity with UWMC-ML.Tracks revenue trends and volumes – comparing like periods to discover FY trending, adjusting when necessary.Actively looks for opportunities to control costs and improve margin and profitability.Consistently implements marketing and promotional campaigns to increase capture rate. Proposes innovative solutions to keep up with current retail trends and exercises project ownership through execution and implementation.Facilitates strategic initiatives for customer experience, quality and financial stewardship.Collaborates with the Culinary and Retail Managers for both ML and NW, as well as HMC and Valley to discover alignment opportunities across the system.Deploys marketing and merchandising strategies to drive retail growth and improve customer experience.Responsible for hiring, completion of regular performance evaluations, performance improvement, counseling supervisors and staff, developing a team and utilizing the disciplinary process including separation of staff as appropriate.Directly supervises Program Support Supervisor and team of food service workers and baristas. Oversees all retail team members (~25 people total).REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and four years of food service experience.Prior Starbucks experience required.At least two years in a lead or supervisory role in a food service operation is preferred.SERVSAFE certification is required (may be obtained within 6 months of hire). Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to make independent, quality judgments and decisions required.ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST:
