Transportation Coordinator

The Transportation Coordinator supports the inbound and outbound supply chain related operations of the business- this role is fast paced and offers room for professional growth as part of an expanding business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports warehouse team with the planning of outbound LTL & truckload shipments.Ensure the timely pickup of freight and submitting required documentation such as ASN's or customs clearance.Communicate in a professional manner while working as a team- be the advocate of the customer in ensuring the product is delivered in the most efficient manner.Take on special projects upon request as directed by leadership, including any implementation of continual improvements.Address inquiries from the account management team related to pending to ship or already in transit product.Support the transportation manager in maintaining the relationship with used 3PL.Maintains up-to-date awareness of the industry trends and suggests continual improvements as they may be identified.Utilize in-house ERP to route freight and ensure adherence to customer routing requirements.Communicate driver/carrier performance issues to transportation manager.Attends staff meetings and training programs, as requested.Provides backup to other operations staff as needed.Attends work consistently and punctually. Requests time off per policy.In person work is required, remote (virtual) is not an offered option.Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.1-2 years in Transportation and Logistics strongly preferred.A degree in Transportation and Logistics can substitute for experience.Demonstrated ability to write standard operating procedures and work instructions including demonstrated process improvement and systematic process improvement skills.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.High level of professional integrity and discretion.
