#discoverbetter.What is the role?As a People Generalist, you will excel in our dynamic environment by serving as a key advisor and influencer within our organization. This role is pivotal in supporting daily HR operations, including employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, benefits and leave administration, and payroll, all in line with company policies. In this position, you will cultivate strong, lasting relationships with employees, site leadership, and the corporate office. You will offer expert guidance on policy application, relevant laws, and best practices, ensuring a cohesive and compliant HR function.
What are the key responsibilities?•
Primary Point of Contact:
Act as the first point of contact for employee support to employees in all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, compensation & benefits, performance management, talent management, employee relations, engagement, and wellbeing.•
Onboarding : Lead and enhance the onboarding program for new hires, ensuring a seamless, thorough, and engaging introduction to the company and its culture.•
Exit Interviews : Conduct all exit interviews for North America, and facilitate follow-up feedback and coaching sessions with management. Escalate significant feedback to HR or business leadership as appropriate.•
Feedback Communication : Share key themes from exit interviews and employee interactions with the HR team to enhance employee engagement strategies and identify areas for improvement.•
Performance Management : Partner closely with Managers on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and disciplinary warnings, providing templates, guidance, and recommendations throughout the process.•
Policy Development:
Contribute to the development and implementation of personnel, compliance, and leave policies, ensuring clarity and simplicity in HR communications for employee understanding.•
Talent Metrics:
Create and analyze dashboards, scorecards, and metrics to optimize team performance, identify opportunities for improvement, provide actionable insights, and support informed talent-related decision-making.•
Leave Administration : Managing FMLA and non-FMLA leaves, including informing employees of their rights under FMLA, STD, and other Aerogen policies.•
Training and Resources : Work with the Training and Content team to create valuable training materials, guides, and templates for Management on performance management, leave, employee relations, and other HR scenarios.•
HRIS Management:
Partner with the HR team to process employee file updates, terminations, resignations, and other changes in the HRIS system.•
Employee Engagement:
Invest time in understanding employees across all functions, learning about the unique challenges and opportunities within each team.•
Talent Acquisition : Responsible for recruiting non-exempt (full-time or temporary)positions, including collaborating with external recruiting agencies when needed.•
Full Life Cycle Recruitment : Oversee the entire recruitment process for various positions, ranging from hourly to leadership roles, ensuring efficient and timely hiring.•
Strategic Sourcing and Hiring : Design and execute innovative strategies to attract top talent, evaluate candidates for cultural alignment and skill compatibility, and achieve high offer acceptance rates.•
Business Partnership and Advisory:
Serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers, offering expert advice on interviewing techniques, and leveraging data and market insights to shape effective staffing strategies.•
Diversity and Compliance:
Cultivate diverse candidate pools by partnering with diverse organizations and attending relevant events, while maintaining adherence to compliance standards and talent acquisition best practices for an exceptional candidate experience.•
Additional Projects : Participate in other HR projects and initiatives as needed.What education and experience are required?• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field• Minimum 3-5 years of HR Specialist/Generalist experience
What key skills will make you great at the role?• Comfort navigating in the gray, listening to multiple perspectives, and making sound judgement calls based on best practice, precedence, or legal requirements when necessary• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a talent for balancing concise summaries of key investigation findings verbally while creating detail oriented, fact-driven, non-editorial write-ups for documentation purposes• Superior professionalism with a clear understanding of what is HR confidential and what can be shared more openly• High comfort level in providing respectful pushback, challenging outdated ways of thinking or managing• Experience in Paylocity, Workday, or other similar HRIS tools• Technical competence to quickly pick up a diverse HR tool set used for employee recognition, surveys, and communication• Growth mindset• Self-driven with ability to partner and build relationships to effectively work with entry-level up to VP level• First-hand experience using an HRIS system, SAP or Success Factors preferred.• Proven ability to use a variety of MS Office software• Strong empathy and interpersonal skills• Must have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills• Excellent communication and presentation skills; negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; organizational skills and attention to detail• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multitask• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
