This position is in the Accounts Payable Section of the Budget and Finance Division and will handle Accounts Payable activities for assigned divisions within the agency. The selected candidate will be responsible for auditing and processing both matching and direct invoices, processing travel reimbursements and making timely payments to vendors in accordance with established guidelines per OSBM, OSC and NCDA policies and procedures. This position will work with the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS), general ledger and accounts payable modules as well as the E-Procurement System and will have personal contact with vendors, division personnel and all levels of management. The selected candidate must have a strong work ethic and experience working with confidential information. Additional duties will include filing and other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:Working knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and practices.Working knowledge of the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS)Ability to research and analyze accounting transactions and make accurate adjustments as needed.Ability to adapt to statewide/agency changes in processes and procedures and modify related procedures.Ability to work, prioritize and problem solve independently.Ability to adhere to and adapt to strict time schedules and remain calm under pressure.Ability to work with complex spreadsheets.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with general public, fellow employees, division personnel, and all levels of management.

MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:Completed all North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) training modules.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.Associate s degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Supplemental and Contact Information
