THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY:

The

Housekeeper

performs a variety of routine tasks to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of facilities, adjoining buildings and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(include, but not limited to the following)Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutionsApplies disinfectant to surfaces to prevent spread of disease in accordance with standardsDusts window sills, blinds, furniture, light fixtures, vents and equipmentCollects and empties trash, disposes of bio-hazard materials, confidential and recycle materials in accordance with established standardsCollects soiled linen bags from patient care areasSanitizes and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors and other hard surfaces; refills soap, towels and other dispensersDaily, maintains log of activitiesVacuums carpets, shampoos and spot cleans as neededWashes windows, both interior and exterior surfacesDusts furniture, equipment, vents, window sills and light fixturesParticipates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiativesParticipates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with SupervisorPerform other duties as assigned.Requirements

One year of institutional cleaning experience, preferredHigh School diploma or GED equivalent, preferredCurrent and valid driver's license, required.
