About the Role:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations that occur within the facility, ensuring the facility runs efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. The Plant Manager will be a key member of the management team and will assist in Wabash's vision and growth strategies and will execute business and operations plans to achieve performance targets.

Responsibilities:Manages the plant function and related activitiesPlans, organizes, and directs the manufacturing operations to ensure the most effective return on assetsConfers with other departments to coordinate operations and/or activities, as neededInitiates plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capitalAssures attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectationsImplements manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Wabash's strategic initiativesEstablishes group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reductionEncourages new techniques and focus on fact based problem-solvingStrategically adjusts and balances personal to maintain set labor efficiency targetsImplements and maintains Lean Manufacturing principles and standards and manage to 5S initiativesWorks to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees' positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and actionContinually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudesMaintains individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management conceptsOther duties as assignedLet's Talk About Your Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree; major desired: Engineering or related field, Business, or related field. Will consider an Associate Degree with significant number of years in a Plant/Production Manager roleKnowledge and/or training courses specific for this position (explanationlist at least 3):Computer proficiency with AS400, Excel, and MS OfficeHAZWOPER trainingLean manufacturing / Six Sigma5S trainingRead and understand engineering drawings/blueprints and BOMFamiliar with applicable OHSA and EPA standardsProven leadership skillsStrong project management skills, time management skills, detail-orientation, and organizational abilityExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong collaboration and teamwork skillsStrong analytical skillsLeading large groups/teamsManaging by objectiveProven safety recordGoal oriented and results drivenHeavy equipment manufacturing experienceSheet metal/fiberglass process experienceStrong lean experienceTime studies and manning capabilitiesScheduling and production flowsCommunication skillsLeadership Attributes:
