The Director of Safety and Compliance at Foss Recycling and Foss Demolition is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs and initiatives across both divisions of the company. This role ensures adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and compliance regulations, fostering a culture of safety within all operational environments. in critical areas such as:Asbestos (Worker and Supervisor: Initial and Refreshers)Hazwoper 40-hourFirst Aid/CPRSilica TrainingFall ProtectionAerial Work PlatformScaffold TrainingHeavy Equipment CertificationsLadder SafetyMold TrainingLead TrainingOversee the implementation of company-wide safety training programs, ensuring all employees are trained on relevant safety practices, protocols, and regulatory requirements.Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop measures to prevent future occurrences.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.Collaborate with department heads to develop job-specific safety procedures and ensure all employees adhere to these protocols.Manage safety-related documentation, including injury reports, safety training records, and equipment inspection logs.Lead safety meetings and communicate safety updates to employees across all company locations.Collaborate with HR to implement safety policies that align with company goals and ensure they are followed company-wide.Oversee the integration of safety standards between Foss Recycling and Foss Demolition, ensuring consistency in safety operations.Serve as the primary point of contact for any safety-related inquiries, incidents, or concerns from employees and management.Stay updated on new safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve safety operations.Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety supplies are available and used properly by all employees.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field, or equivalent experience.At least 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the recycling or demolition, or heavy industrial industry.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.Proven experience in conducting safety audits, training, and implementing safety programs.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive safety initiatives across multiple locations.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and travel between Foss Recycling and Foss Demolition locations as needed.Certification in safety-related fields such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or OSHA certification is preferred.MUST
be Bilingual in English and SpanishWork Conditions:Must be able to work in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.Ability to lift heavy objects, climb, and perform site inspections in challenging conditions.Regular travel to Foss Recycling and Foss Demolition sites across multiple locations.
