LSU Health New Orleans Division of Auxiliary Enterprises/Wellness Center is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Group Leader (Unclassified WAE).
Pilates/Reformer Instructor is responsible for leading group and individual Pilates classes, focusing on improving client’s strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. The Instructor will design and implement customized exercise programs using Pilates equipment such as reformers, mats, and apparatus
Starting rate of pay is $20 per hour but may be adjusted based on applicants’ qualifications.
If hired in a WAE Appointment, I understand that I amnoteligible for or entitled to state benefits, leave earning and paid holidays. I am only authorized to work up to1245 hourswithin a twelve-month period, regardless of the job title or state agency that I work within. The twelve-month period is established upon initial date of hire and the 1245 hours may be worked on a full-time, part-time, or intermittent basis within the twelve-month period. Only the State Civil Service Commission may grant exceptions to this rule. In the event the appointing authority determines that a layoff is necessary, I do not have rights to offers of relocation to another position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Health related field
Certification in Pilates Instruction, AED/CPR Certified, Knowledgeable of anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics
Experience with teaching Pilates and/or Reformer classes
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time, provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down
Instructs patrons on effective workout methods via exercise orientation; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies difficult muscle groups and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles
Performs fitness assessments for clients to determine fitness needs
Gives tours to perspective members and covers front desk if needed
