We are looking for a Freelance PD/Sourcing (Mens Knits) for a top fashion company in New York, New York! This position will be covering a Maternity Leave.
Overview:
- Drives the product development and commercialization process, working in collaboration with the internal / external cross functional partners (Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials, Technical Design, Sourcing, Hubs, Vendors & factories) to deliver product that meets business requirements for quality, aesthetic and price.
- Communicate with hub teams/vendors regarding concerns related to proper sample execution and costing, throughout the development process.
- Must be able to approach work strategically and have the ability to multitask, managing day-to-day responsibilities in conjunction with ad-hoc projects requiring quick turn-time.
- Proactive management of potential issues; driving to resolution with cross functional teams.
- Seek personal/professional development. Identify opportunities for improvement as well as risks to the business and make recommendations to the team and upper management.
Responsibilities:
- Drive pre-season development, taking ownership on higher level initiatives and delegating where appropriate.
- Ensure appropriate work is being done to build products into target costs while maintaining design integrity.
- Continuous communication with design and raw material partners to ensure collaboration/alignment throughout the development process.
- Lead discussions around initial flash costing at development stage to ensure styles are within range of the cost target, prior to the tech packs being released
- Validate development against sku plan needs
- Seek information from Sourcing partners to understand vendor competences and appropriate product allocation in line with the garment sourcing strategy.
- Ensure accuracy of costing, challenging where appropriate using product knowledge and/or history.
- Lead weekly cross functional WIP meetings.
- Drive collaboration to ensure tech pack accuracy for SMS in partnership with design, technical design
- Product category management
- Ensure clear understanding of vendor capabilities and allocation strategy for each category/style in partnership with Hubs and Sourcing
- Understanding of product costs – able to identify price distortions and engage cross functional partners for solutions
- Drive cross-functional calendar adherence and alert cross-functional partners of calendar implications should deliverables be missed
- Collaborate with PVH offshore offices and factories directly on daily tasks
- Partner with Raw Materials, QA, Technical and Hub Partners to ensure a complete seasonal risk assessment is complete.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in Product Development / Production
- Understanding of Product construction and costing
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- A textile/PD or manufacturing-related background is preferred.
- Experience in working with both development and production teams ( Design/Hubs/Vendors)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally to meet team deadlines
- Flexible and Adaptable to change
- Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent follow-up and follow through skills
- Proficient in Excel. Ability to create, update, and format data for tracking and reporting by using pivot tables and formulas
- Knowledge of PLM /WEB PDM/ Adobe a plus
