Job Purpose:
Manage and ensure voyage and port operations are as per set guidelines. Plan procure and conduct corrective/preventive equipment maintenance and ensure vessel stowage planning is performed to facilitate smooth chartering operations.
Key Accountabilities:
Voyage and Port Management
Monitor and manage voyage progress, voyage updates, port arrivals and departures and execute voyage operations undertaken by vessels. Arrange port authority files, handle crew exchange formalities, obtain gate/visitor passes if required and provide necessary support at port.
Equipment Maintenance
Oversee and ensure corrective and preventive maintenance is carried out for equipment's used for moving containers/shipments.
Stowage Plans
Implement stowage plans to optimize available space and prevent damage to the goods and minimize the time vessel spends at the port.
Operation Services
Identify and procure suitable operation services such as stevedores, cargo equipment's and other related services
Concepts and Policies
Adopt and apply new professional strategies and policies within the area of responsibility in accordance with management directions.
Equipment Management
Handling equipment activities but not limited to releasing containers to shippers, receiving containers from consignees, empty repositioning and backloading, follow up for on-hiring and off-hiring containers, equipment sales, claims and billing, issuing invoices of detention and damages, container monitoring and follow up etc.
Qualification and Experience:
Technical diploma/associate degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
At least 4 years of experience in commercial shipping or a similar industry.
Familiarity with "Maintain & Repair" (MnR) processes.
Port visit experience is preferred.
IICL certification is a plus.
