SUMMARY
The department head of Manufacturing Engineering manages the area of Manufacturing Engineering and Factory Maintenance. The Manager oversees all the steps that ensure the design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes guarantee the most economic utilization of resources under consideration of quality, safety, ergonomic and ecological aspects as well as the respective BSH Production System principles.
DUTIES
- Direct, guide and coach the department associates, including motivation, improving skill and technical knowledge and personal development
- Setting and communication of clear department goals derived from the company and overall factory goals
- Manage the obtaining of the set department objectives
- Assure fulfillment of economical, quality, reliability, safety and ergonomic aspects through Equipment, Tool, Process and Workstation development and modification
- Assure sufficient technical capacity planning and balancing (equipment and manpower)
- Direct to Standardization of Equipment, Tools, Processes and Workplaces
- Ensure sufficient and smooth incorporation of new product/product changes into factory processes
- Assure timely and efficient support of production operations
- Initiate, promote and control the continuous optimization process to increase productivity with the focus on cost reduction in Labor, Overhead and Material spending
- Responsibility for Plant maintenance including Preventative Maintenance program
- Coordinate the factory investment planning and budgeting process
- Plan and administer department budget
- Regular information exchange with ME colleagues from other factories
- Participation in regular PCG/PD information exchange circles
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Career Level MT4A (Manager) - This is a people leader that focuses on management processes and planning the department's future. Has the authority to hire, promote, let go of employees in partnership with HR, and approve company resources to a respective limit. Has the responsibility of guiding department budget as well as executing defined company strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering (Mechanical specific preferred)) – Required
- Master's Degree (Engineering) – Preferred
- 5-7 Years of Experience (People Manager experience) – Required
- 5-7 Years of Experience (Manufacturing Engineering/Production experience) – Required
- 7-10 Years of Experience (Manufacturing Engineering/Production experience) – Preferred
- Manufacturing Processes with focus on metal forming, welding, coating and assembly
- Lean Manufacturing
- Problem solving
- Cost Analysis
- Project Management
- Electrical, Pneumatics and Hydraulics
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Working in teams
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Software
- Basics in SAP, CAD
- Travel Percentage – 10%

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
