Senior Procurement Manager

The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive procurement framework, including creating and optimizing procurement processes, establishing supplier relationships, and overseeing the purchase of high-impact goods and services. This individual will play a critical role in managing contracts, negotiating with top-tier technology vendors such as Google, AWS, and others, and creating a streamlined environment that aligns with our company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Creation & Leadership:
- Lead the establishment of a procurement department from the ground up.
- Develop, document, and implement procurement policies, standards, and best practices that support company goals.
- Establish KPIs to measure department effectiveness and ensure consistent improvement.
- Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management:
- Develop and execute a sourcing strategy for procuring goods and services to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality.
- Negotiate, structure, and manage contracts with key vendors, focusing on technology and cloud services providers like Google, AWS, and others.
- Build and maintain relationships with critical suppliers, regularly assessing their performance and ensuring optimal service.
- Process Development & Optimization:
- Create, manage, and optimize the purchase order (PO) system to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Develop standardized procedures for procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing workflows.
- Implement procurement automation tools and systems to enhance tracking, reporting, and vendor management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with IT, Legal, Finance, and other key departments to ensure procurement strategies align with broader business objectives.
- Serve as the primary procurement liaison, advising stakeholders on cost-effective, compliant purchasing decisions.
- Financial Management & Compliance:
- Monitor and manage the department's budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with corporate governance policies, industry regulations, and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Minimum of [X years] experience in procurement management, with at least [Y years] in a publicly traded company.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing a procurement department.
- Strong knowledge of purchase order creation, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
