Workday Specialist

The Workday Specialist will be responsible for supporting the overall function of the Workday platform from testing through adoption and optimization in conjunction with our established Workday Specialist team. This role will be one of the subject matter experts (SME) for our HRIS Workday. This includes implementing and optimizing applications, software, and systems to ensure they meet expected service levels and to prioritize the backlog of enhancements. This role will also troubleshoot performance issues.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support the foundational architecture within Workday, including departments, location structures, position management, absence plans and time tracking
- Configure business processes and identify opportunities for enhancement or simplification aligned with Workday’s methodology
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Support system upgrades, new HRIS releases, testing, validation, and overall performance analysis
- Collaborate with Specialist team to create training and process documentation after implementing changes
- Ensure data integrity within Workday and downstream systems through audit processes and analyses
- Collaborate with functional leads on Workday development and enhancement projects, translating business requirements into technical requirements and implementing scalable solutions best for HR-1 LLC
- Partner with all areas of HR to create, edit and prepare reports and user-friendly dashboards
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive business process knowledge, configuration, and hands-on experience (minimum of three years) in Workday in the area of HCM with a preference for at least two of the following additional areas: Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Reports
- Practical Workday integration experience and Workday Certification preferred but not required
- Experience with configuring workday modules including connecting with third-party apps
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in information systems, HR, or business administration or commensurate experience required
- Work both collaboratively and independently and be able to determine and develop necessary approach for solutions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
