Senior Distribution Engineer SCADA

PTS Advance is currently looking for a Senior Distribution Engineer – SCADA in Walnut Creek, CA. Great contract to hire opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency RT SCADA requests from operations, and handle work order requests from field technicians, communication technicians, and other stakeholders as part of a conversion from RT SCADA to an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
- Provide technical expertise and solutions for device building, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of RT SCADA systems for the distribution network.
- Coordinate with field technicians, automation engineers, communication technicians, ADMS SCADA specialists, project managers, program managers, and SCADA managers to ensure successful device testing and release.
- Resolve limited-scope problems within SCADA procedural guidelines to support new device installation, upgrades, and replacements.
- Seek assistance from supervisors or more senior employees for more difficult or unusual problems.
- Participate in training provided for specific systems.
Core Duties:
- Build and map devices, including analog, status, calc, virtual, amp, analog points, history, settings, and controls.
- Support field technicians in resolving SCADA-related issues during new device installations, upgrades, and replacements.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful testing and release of devices.
- Address limited-scope issues within SCADA procedural guidelines.
- Seek guidance from senior employees or supervisors on complex issues.
- Attend training on client-specific systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of distribution engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Engineering Technology degree from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 7 years of distribution engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.
- OR Master's Degree in Engineering and 6 years of distribution engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of electrical distribution power flow is required.
- Strong understanding of overhead and underground construction methods and distribution system equipment.
- 5-10 years of experience with RT SCADA-Supervisory Control or related systems.
- Current and active California PE license is desired.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
- Experience working with RT SCADA systems, RTUs, Line-Reclosers, Capacitor Banks, Fusesavers, Pad Mounted Interrupters, Switches, Circuit Breakers, Transformer Banks, Relays, etc., for devices on distribution lines and within distribution substations.
- Knowledge of communication paths such as digi or radio, TCP End Paths, serial/ethernet technology, DNP3 protocols, etc.
- Familiarity with Circuit Map Change Sheets, Points Lists, Site Surveys, and other technical documentation needed for device testing and commissioning.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Server, and other Windows programs.

Compensation: Rate $75.00 - $95.00 hourly DOE
