Business Data Analyst

Our client in Boston is looking for a Business Data Analyst. They are looking for someone skilled and analytical that can analyze complex datasets, deriving insights, and providing actionable recommendations to improve the data domain. This person would work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, identify trends, and recommend data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business skills, strong Excel, Power BI, and some SQL.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:

• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
• Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from various sources to uncover insights and trends
• Develop and recommend data models, logic, and technical solutions to solve business problems

Reporting and Visualization:

• Create clear and compelling reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders
• Work with reporting teams to design and develop automated reporting to streamline data analysis and advance detection capability
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and ensure data accuracy and domain relevance

Business Insights:

• Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to drive business decisions and strategies
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and solve specific business problems
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement or optimization

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and requirement
• Collaborate with data specialists, business users, and other team members to ensure data integrity and usability across the domain
• Provide guidance and support to teams on data-related matters, including data interpretation and best practices
