Jr. Electrical Designer/Drafter

The JrElectrical Designer/Drafter is pivotal in developing and implementing electrical systems for construction projects. Working closely with our electrical designers and project management teams, the Electrical Design Drafter creates detailed electrical drawings and documentation that adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Compensation: $55-$70K/yr DOE

Availability: Monday - Friday, schedule flexibility is an option.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Collaborate with electrical designers and project managers to develop electrical designs for construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
  • Drafting: Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create accurate and detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams based on project requirements and design specifications.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and regulatory requirements, incorporating necessary revisions and updates.
  • Coordination: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate electrical design elements with overall project plans and specifications.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including shop drawings, bill of materials, equipment specifications, and as-built drawings.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of electrical designs to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly to maintain project timelines and objectives.
  • Technical Support: Support project teams during the construction phase, responding to inquiries, clarifying design intent, and resolving on-site electrical issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about advancements in electrical design technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing design workflows and standards within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar tools, with demonstrated experience in electrical design drafting.
  • Knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards for construction projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Previous experience in electrical design or drafting within the construction industry is highly desirable.
