Job Overview
Our client will be hiring an Electrical Design/Drafter to play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of electrical systems for construction projects. Working closely with electrical designers and project management teams, this role is responsible for creating detailed electrical drawings and documentation that adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
• Design Development: Collaborate with electrical designers and project managers to develop electrical designs for construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Drafting: Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create accurate and detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams based on project requirements and design specifications.
• Code Compliance: Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and regulatory requirements, incorporating necessary revisions and updates as needed.
• Coordination: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate electrical design elements with overall project plans and specifications.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including shop-drawings, bill of materials, equipment specifications, and as-built drawings.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of electrical designs to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly to maintain project timelines and objectives.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to project teams during the construction phase, responding to inquiries, clarifying design intent, and assisting with resolution of on-site electrical issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about advancements in electrical design technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of design workflows and standards within the company.
Qualifications
• Electrical Designer/Drafter with at least 1 year of construction project experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is ideal.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam)
• Knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards applicable to construction projects.
