Enterprise Resources Planning Functional Consultant

Robert Half has an exciting hybrid contract opportunity with one of our local government clients in Kent WA. We are seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Project Manager with expertise in financial system implementations, writing RFPs, and selecting the appropriate solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial systems, business processes, and technical aspects related to ERP software.
The ERP Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams in the planning, design, and delivery of financial system projects across the enterprise. This includes overseeing all aspects of project execution, including cost management, risk mitigation, resource management, and project timeline. Therefore, the ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker, have exceptional leadership skills and strong business acumen.
This engagement is anticipated to be 2 yrs in length and does require hybrid onsite in Kent WA. Candidates not currently residing in Kent WA or who are unable to work onsite in Kent will not be considered for this opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of ERP projects including financial system implementations.
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop project planning including project tasks, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Facilitate the bidding process, write RFPs, and aid in selecting the optimal solutions to meet business requirements.
- Monitor and track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Support the development of new business processes and change management to ensure successful ERP deployment.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Manage risks, issues, and conflicts to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders for a seamless transition and integration of new systems.
- Track project's key performance indicators and report the project's status to the upper management regularly.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, or a related field. A Master's or project management certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an ERP Project Manager, specifically with financial system implementation projects.
- Extensive experience in writing RFPs and leading the selection process for ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of business process and system development.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional organization, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP software like SAP, Oracle, etc.
- Proficiency in project management software tools.
