Job Summary:

The Director of IT PMO will lead the Project Management Office, overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of all IT-related projects across the organization. This role is responsible for establishing best practices, driving project governance, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT project outcomes. The Director of IT PMO will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and business leaders, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the IT Project Management Office, providing strategic direction and leadership for project managers and other PMO staff.
  • Develop and implement PMO governance, methodologies, standards, and tools to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality IT projects.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align IT project goals with business objectives and long-term strategy.
  • Ensure that project scopes, timelines, and resources are well-defined, monitored, and adjusted as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Manage the overall project portfolio, ensuring proper prioritization and resource allocation to optimize delivery.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of projects and overall PMO performance.
  • Provide regular project status reports and updates to senior leadership, including project risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the PMO, including the adoption of new technologies, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach project managers and other PMO team members, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in all IT project activities.
  • Manage the budget, financial forecasting, and resource planning for the IT PMO.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in IT project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT project management methodologies, SDLC, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, BA, or related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement.
