Kelly is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to work with our manufacturing client at their Chicago-based plant on a direct hire basis – starting ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative company that has been successful for over 85 years.The HR Specialist will:Perform data entry into HRIS for all new hires, changes, LOAs, and terminationsMaintain HRIS accuracy for all employee recordsReview timecards and ensure accurate timekeeping prior to payroll being processedAnswer payroll and benefit related questionsAssist in handling leave management for the site (FMLA, STD, ADA, W/C)Assist in onboarding employeesRecruit for hourly employees, work with temporary agencies, and manage agency relationshipsFacilitate the internal job promotion and interview processServe as first point of contact for employees with HR needsCoordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings and engagement eventsEnsure proper record keeping and employee file maintenanceUpdate and maintain current job descriptionsTrack, monitor, and coach employees and supervisors on weekly attendanceAssist EHS Coordinator to ensure compliance with annual Safety and Health compliance trainingAssist with employee relations issues including but not limited to counseling, coaching, and corrective actionsSupport the creation of reward and recognition programs to drive performance in alignment with business objectivesEnsure compliance with Chicago ordinances and state and federal regulations as well as annual trainingsAssist with union and non-union employeesQualifications:3+ years of previous HR experienceManufacturing experience highly preferredBilingual in Cantonese or Spanish a plusExcellent verbal and written skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels within the organizationProfessionalism at all times and treating others with respect and appreciationMust work well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with competing prioritiesAccept responsibility for own actions and ensure strong follow-up on commitmentsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentationInterviews are happening now!
