(HYBRID) Payroll Accountant
Job Description
Perform a variety of payroll-related tasks, including processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing payroll-related support to employees. Liaise with the human resources team to track all payroll updates and ensure accuracy in semi-monthly payroll. Manage payments to contractors using the Deel platform. Responsible for the reconciliation of incoming, outgoing, expense reimbursement, and benefits in a timely manner. Produce semi-monthly payroll reports for sign-off. Complete journal entries as well as balance to the general ledger. Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable. Produce error-free accounting and payroll reports and present their results. Analyze financial information and summarize financial status. Spot errors and trends to suggest ways to improve efficiency. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

3-5 years' experience as a payroll accountant.Strong payroll experience.Experience in general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.In-depth understanding of GAAP principles.Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent.Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax.Proficiency with Excel pivot tables.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and iSolved.Experience managing payroll for multiple states.Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.Comfort managing spreadsheets and data sets in Microsoft Excel.Extreme attention to detail and appreciation for accuracy.Ability to oversee and refine internal procedures to ensure error-free payroll processing.Experience with state tax entities and management of state tax registration, payments, and other compliance items.Work Environment
The role requires being onsite for 4 days with Fridays being remote. The office is located in Tyson's and the role sits within the accounting department, reporting to the VP of Finance and the Accounting Manager. The team is smaller with room for growth.Catherine SullivanView my availability here:
